What is the Arctic Circle?

The Arctic Circle - you know that dotted line on all the maps around the North Pole. Why is it there? It actually is a demarcation line. It marks the northernmost point at which the center of the noon sun is just visible on the December solstice and the southernmost point at which the center of the midnight sun is just visible on the June solstice. (source: Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_Circle, 5/18/21). Everything North of the Arctic Circle is referred to as the Arctic. Alaska is the only state in the United Stated to cross into the Arctic.

To help promote our Arctic distinction, we created our Arctic Circle bracelet. This is a stretch style bracelet crafted of polished black agate and stainless steel beads. Have you ever been to the Arctic Circle? It is an experience to remember, mainly because of the Alaska mosquitos - they actually cast shadows when the fly - them suckers is BIG!
